Evergreen On 5th (Eon5) is a unique development and project management company located in San Diego’s Balboa Park area on historic Banker’s Hill. Eon5’s mission is to design, coordinate, contract, build, and fill a debut project that will be a showcase of sustainable architecture and building.

The company’s initial multi-use, urban high-rise will be one of the first “living building” projects in the United States utilizing only best of breed sustainable materials, and practices as well as incorporate multiple forms of renewable energy production systems. The construction will also follow the strictest LEED Platinum certification guidelines and will produce 100% of its own power through alternative energy sources including solar and wind.

The Eon5 complex will house a balanced mix of new, permanent residences, hotel rooms, retail stalls, office spaces, and underground parking all powered by alternative energy sources. The building will also incorporate a learning center affiliated with the Evergreen Project. This area will be a “hands-on” educational showcase for visiting school groups designed as a living museum to showcase the building’s various sustainable components.

In addition to relying on alternative energy producing products, Eon5 will also use top line intelligent system integration to achieve maximum energy efficiency. This large scale, 90 unit building will be highly visible as situated in the heart of one of the most traveled commuter routes to and from downtown San Diego.

Evergreen On 5th has already collaborated successfully with the City of San Diego on historic preservation and renovation in the Balboa Park area. Its pilot project will be developed with the participation of all community groups as well as advisory councils and strategic partners. The Eon5 property will be a prototype for numerous, future projects in a variety of US cities over the coming decade and most of all, will present a model of what a fully functional, adaptable, and profitable state-of-the-art, sustainable building should be.
